The organized unit of United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
All women of St. James are welcome and considered a member of UMW. We meet once a month for fellowship, prayer and service.
Our greatest accomplishment over the past few years has been the funding of a mothers’ waiting medical building in Zimbabwe, Africa, which is an on-going project.
In April 2016 Pastors Dave and Jordan and three members of St. James United Methodist Women traveled to Zimbabwe for the Grand Opening of a beautiful new building in which expectant mothers can await the safe birth of their new babies! A few days after the formal handing over of the new building to the local chief, the first baby was safely delivered .
